Robert J. Day, chief executive officer of Patrick Henry Family Services (PFHS), will be at the Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library on Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. to sign his new book.
Entitled “Worse of Mothers … Best of Moms,” the book is the first in a three-part series from Day, who is also a radio host and speaker. The series, called “Rescuing Children — Healing Adults,” begins with Day telling his personal struggle through poverty and, sometimes, unspeakable abuse.
“Through this moving, true-life account, you will discover, the amazing wonder of God’s endless grace and He uses our past for His ultimate purpose,” PFHS said of the book on its website.
According to the site, Day was born to an unwed, teenage mother and lived in more than 35 homes before graduating from high school.
“Today, Robert’s life work is dedicated to keeping children safe and families strong,” the website noted. “This moving and inspiring true story will give you hope and a new perspective on God’s sovereignty.”
PFHS operates Hope for Tomorrow counseling centers, including one in Farmville. All proceeds from sales of the book will go back to PFHS.
The library is in Farmville at 1303 West Third St.
