- TRAVIS FINCH | FARMVILLE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT Volunteer firefighters responded to a single-vehicle crash Tuesday.
One person sustained major injuries after a single-vehicle crash on Route 460 East on Tuesday morning.
According to Farmville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Andrew Goss, the crash caused the driver to be trapped inside the vehicle.
The accident, reported at 1:05 a.m. at Buffalo Creek at the Farmville bypass, summoned fire department members and the Prince Edward Volunteer Rescue Squad, Goss said.
He said the victim was transported by helicopter to the VCU Medical Center in Richmond.
“It looked like a single-vehicle ran off the road on the left-hand side, overturned and struck a tree,” Goss said.
