Costumed interpreters will gather at Sailors Creek Battlefield Historical State Park’s Hillman House from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday exploring the facets of rural life in antebellum Southside Virginia.

Visitors will be able to talk with interpreters about farming, militia drill, politics, medicine, music, children’s games, the lives of people of color, women and their roles and a host of other topics. This family-friendly program will involve some visitor participation and is free to the general public.  The hours for the event are 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
