An aid for debating dining options

Area restaurants are prepared for increased business as people begin to flow into town in advance of the U.S. Vice Presidential Debate at Longwood on Tuesday. Longwood University Dining Services has released a VP Debate Dining Schedule that some restaurants have posted on their doors for the convenience of visitors and residents wondering about when and where they can find food. Some restaurants are expanding their hours of operation and others are offering special deals.

Karim Gerdana, general manager for both Subway restaurants in Farmville, said customers will be able to purchase any footlong for $6 on Tuesday, a special unique to the Farmville locations because of the debate.

Chick-fil-A will stay open an hour later on Monday and Tuesday, opening at 7:30 a.m. and not closing until 10 p.m.

Among the other highlights on the dining schedule, there will be a food truck at Stubbs Lawn starting on Sunday. It will be there through Tuesday, with hours of 11 a.m.-10 p.m. each day. The food truck will be accompanied by limited menus from Moe’s Southwest Grill and Chick-fil-A.
