Twin Lakes night adventures

State parks are very different places after sunset. As the activities of the day die down and one’s vision dims, we experience sounds, smells and sensations we normally wouldn’t. Every Saturday night at Twin Lakes State Park you can join a Ranger for “Saturday Night Adventures,” exploring aspects of the park that aren’t always present during the day. State parks are a great place to get away from artificial light and experience what is above us. On Saturday at 9 p.m., join Chief Ranger Kevin Koons at the park for “The Night Sky,” during which participants will scan the starry sky in search of planets, constellations, satellites and more. This program is free; meet at the park office. Bringing insect repellant and something to sit on is recommended.
