Redbud Garden Club members met July 26 at the Prince Edward County Natural Resources and Agricultural Building. Deanna Fehrer, district manager for the Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District, spoke to members about native plants that can do well in home landscaping and are planted at the building. Due to heavy downpours and lightning from a thunderstorm, members took a virtual tour of the building landscape through pictures. Blue ribbons were awarded to Liz Dunn, Janet Higgins and Ann Ligon for “From Nature’s Garden,” a mass arrangement using natural materials. Sarah Schember received a red ribbon. “Reflections,” a design featuring a mirror, earned blue ribbons for Mary Hazlegrove, Janet Higgins, Ann Ligon, Geraldine Sanderson, Sarah Schember, Kate Shorter and Joyce Thompson. Red ribbons were given to Patsy Miessler and Dottie Fahrner. Ann Ligon received a blue and red ribbon for her horticultural specimens.
