The Longwood University men’s golf program has been honored for its work in the classroom by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Head Coach Kevin Fillman’s squad was among 24 Division I programs to attain a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 or above throughout the 2015-16 academic year.

For the first time in program history, the Lancers were named to the President’s Special Recognition list, which honors the programs that attain at least a 3.50 team GPA. The blue and white was listed among 41 programs in all divisions of men’s college golf to earn the distinction.

Additionally, Fillman’s squad has received recognition on the All-Academic Team for achieving a team-GPA of at least a 3.00 in each of the eight seasons the GCAA began naming the All-Academic Team since 2009.
