Course closure is like ‘a death in the family’

On Sunday, June 26, the last public event was held at the Longwood University Golf Course — a “Farewell Tournament” — in which 68 golfers participated.
On July 1, the golf course officially closed. Rest in peace to the beloved Longwood course, and to all those golfers, like myself, for whom the course was profoundly important.
It is not unlike a death in the family. My thanks and appreciation to all who were devoted to it.
