Vandals hit Cedar, A and Second streets

- FARMVILLE POLICE “Purge” and “100” were spray painted onto A Street either late Monday or early Tuesday morning, according to Farmville Police. Seven calls for vandalisms to vehicles were reported Tuesday.
Seven calls for vandalisms to vehicles were reported Tuesday morning in Farmville.
According to a Farmville Police press release, the calls were on Orchard and A streets and Second Street to Putney Street.
The vehicles were spray painted with white paint, Ellington said in an email to Town Manager Gerald Spates.
“Vehicles had been spray painted with white spray paint and two vehicles had windows damaged,” the release stated. “Each vehicle received a swipe of paint along one side. There were also reports of the word ‘PURGE’ and some profanity being spray painted in the street.”
Officers checked the areas, speaking with residents as part of the investigation. “All incidents appear to have occurred during the overnight hours of last evening or early this morning and appear to be connected,” the release stated.
