The Longwood University softball program will host its annual summer camp June 27-29 for girls ages 8-18 at Lancer Field on 201 High St. The camp will feature coaching and instruction from Lancers head coach and back-to-back Big South Coach of the Year Kathy Riley, along with defensive specialist Howard Kobata and veteran coach Gerry Mauro.

Kobata, a former baseball player, has won many awards as a softball coach that include two Southern California state championships.

Mauro has over 30 years of experience at the professional and collegiate levels.

Finally, campers will have the opportunity to interact with Riley, along with current and former members of the Longwood softball team that is coming off a historic 2016 season. The current and former players include Maggie Margadonna, Emily Murphy and Carly Adams.
