A review conducted by 1A East Regional Director William Hicks determined that an athlete illegally participated for a team in an event at the 2016 Region 1A East Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 26 at Sussex Central High School.
The revised results brought some significant changes on the girls’ side, including for Cumberland County High School.
The Lady Dukes went from having 46 points to 50 and moved up from fourth place to third. Their 4×800-meter relay team was advanced from second to first place. The team featured Ebony Jones, Marya Elasha, Tayanna Bradley and Munirah Fulani.
Northumberland, which produced the winning girls team before Hicks’ review, fell to ninth, and Lancaster is the new winning team.
