Summer Day Camps offered

Prince Edward 4-H is taking registration for two summer day camp programs. A beginner sewing day camp for youth ages nine and older will be held June 7–9 from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. each day at the Prince Edward Extension Office. Learn the basics of machine and hand stitching with FCS Extension Agent Caitlin Miller. Each participant will make a fun project to take home. Cost to participate is $15 per person to cover supplies. Volunteers are needed, so any interested parents are invited to stay.

4-H Food Challenge day camp will be held July 7–8 from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. at the Prince Edward Extension Office. Do you like the food competition shows that are popular on TV? If so, the 4-H Food Challenge program is for you. This program is open to youth ages 9–18. Based on a model developed by Texas 4-H, this program challenges teams of 4-H members to create a dish using only a predetermined set of ingredients and supplies — no recipe! From these ingredients, team members must identify and prepare the dish, then make a presentation.

Space is limited in each program, so register early. For more information, contact the Prince Edward Extension Office at (434) 392-4246.
