Peter Francisco Soil & Water Conservation District and Buckingham and Cumberland Virginia Cooperative Extension are offering a day camp for students in grades 6, 7 and 8 (completed fifth, sixth or seventh grade by June). This year’s theme is “River Minions.” The day camp will be held from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Wednesday through Friday, June 8-10.

Campers will have the opportunity to learn about forestry, aquatics and fish and wildlife through interactive, hands-on experiences. Day 1 will be held at Bear Creek Lake State Park; Day 2 will be at James River State Park; and Day 3 campers will take a field trip to Richmond to explore the Middle James.

Cumberland students should meet at Cumberland Cooperative Extension Office; Buckingham students meet at the Buckingham Cooperative Extension Office. The cost is $10 per camper, covering snacks and transportation to and from the respective Cooperative Extension Office for each day’s events.
