Mother’s Day visits enjoyed

I hope each of the mothers had a blessed and wonderful Mother’s Day. I know I did.

May has been a very busy month already, birthdays, Mother’s Day, Heart of Virginia, etc.

On Saturday, May 21, there will be a chicken dinner at Prospect Fire Department sponsored by the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. This will take place from 5-7 p.m. Come out and support this worthwhile cause.

Mrs. Anna Grandinetti and Mrs. Cori Meeks stopped by the home of Mrs. Pat Smith on Wednesday morning for a visit.

On Friday, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith traveled to Unionville to visit Pat’s father, Mr. John Keaveny. Also visiting were Pat’s cousins, Mrs. Patty Kezer, Mrs. Korine Cobel and Mrs. Jeannine Kirkpatrick and her husband, George. 

Mr. Smith then drove to Fredericksburg to take his mother, Mrs. Dolores Smith, out for an early Mother’s Day lunch at Red Lobster.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith were dinner guests Sunday afternoon at the home of their son and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith and Brianna, Charles Jr. and Christina.

Mrs. Peggy Kelsey enjoyed her family on Mother’s Day as well as receiving messages from the Aimesbury family in New Hampshire and from Phil and Melinda Kelsey in Tennessee.

On May 5, Mrs. Flora Bolt met Mrs. Frances Ollie for lunch at Merk’s Place. They love to get together and especially to talk about old times.

Mrs. Judy Bolt entertained the Bolt family for Mother’s Day.

Lon and Mary Jo Stockton and son Sean treated his parents, Richard and Margaret Stockton to a Mother’s Day lunch. The time together was excellent.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton motored to Erwin, Tennessee on May 5 where they visited with his kin folks, Charles Harris, Coy Lee and Judy Harris, and Mr. and Mrs. Horace Stockton. They enjoyed catching up on family things.

A Gideon speaker, Mr. Bob Pennington, will be at Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian church on Sunday. The members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invite you to worship with them each Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with Worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Caitilin Hoy will be with them the month of May.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7:00pm. The Church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.

The Prospect Christian Academy will hold its Inside Yard Sale on Saturday starting at 7:30 a.m. This is a fundraiser for the school and it will be held in the gym rain or shine. Come on out to this and get some good buys.
