The Longwood University softball team will be taking part in its third NCAA Regional in the last four seasons starting on Friday. The Lancers received the three seed in the NCAA Harrisonburg Regional, and all games in the regional will be played Friday through Sunday at Veterans Memorial Park. On Friday, the Lancers (38-18, 19-5 Big South) will play North Carolina (31-23, 13-11 ACC) at 2 p.m. in Game One, and seventh overall national seed James Madison (46-4, 18-1 CAA) will take on Princeton (23-26, 14-6 Ivy) at 4:30 p.m. in Game Two.

The winners of Friday’s games will play each other on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Game Three. The losers of Friday’s games will play each other on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in Game Four. Then, the loser of Game Three and the winner of Game Four will play at 7 p.m. in Game Five.

On Sunday, the winners of Game Three and Game Five will play at 2 p.m in Game Six. The victor in that game advances to the Super Regional versus the Baton Rouge Regional Winner unless the victor had lost earlier in the Harrisonburg Regional. In that event, there will be a Game Six rematch at 4:30 p.m. to determine who advances.
