MEHERRIN — Work to replace a bridge deck on Virso Road, State Route 633, is expected to take about three months, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The project involves a bridge over the Norfolk-Southern Railroad, according to VDOT spokeswoman Paula Jones. “Repairs will be made to this structure. In order to facilitate the work, only one lane, 13 feet in width, will be open and a temporary signal will be in place. I believe construction signs have or will soon be erected,” Jones said.

The work will start once final agreement is completed with the railroad, she said.
