TIGERS FINISH FOURTH IN ODAC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

The Hampden-Sydney golf team placed fourth in the ODAC Championship, finishing 62 over par which was one stroke behind third place finisher Virginia Wesleyan (+61) and three strokes behind second place Guilford (+59). Washington and Lee won the event at 47 over par.
Parker Smith (Warrenton/Fauquier) paced the team while tying for fifth individually. Smith shot rounds of 79, 72 and 78 to finish 13 over par. Alex Simmons (Charlottesville/Albemarle) was four strokes off Smith, using rounds of 74, 78 and 81 to tie for 12th.Â
Jamie Agnew (Fairfax/Flint Hill School) and Aaron Persily (Charleston, W.Va./Charleston Catholic) each tied for 18th at 19 over par; Agnew shot 78, 78 and 79, and Persily shot 81, 75 and 79.
Austin Fockler (Richmond/St. Christopher’s) rounded out the group with a 29th place finish, using rounds of 81, 85 and 75 to shoot 25 over par.
