Roger Earl Allen, 63, of Prospect, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016. He was born May 28, 1952 in Prince Edward County to and later preceded in death by his father, Roderick Earl Allen and mother, Barbara Laverne Franklin.

Mr. Allen was a founding member of the bluegrass band Allen’s Mill, named after his great-grandfather’s water powered grist mill in Prospect. The band brought joy to many within the commonwealth over the years. Roger’s love of life, music, friends and family will be cherished by all blessed to have crossed paths with him in his life.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, April 23 at a private residence. Interment will be in Prospect United Methodist Cemetery.
