Happy Hats enjoy Auxiliary dinner

Thank you to the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary for sponsoring the spaghetti dinner on Saturday. It was delicious. There were two groups. The Swinging Singles and the Prospect Happy Hats sure did enjoy the meal as well as the good fellowship. The Prospect Happy Hats in attendance were: Rita Rountree and Betty Sumner co-hostess, Elsie Wilson, Jean Covington, Margaret Stockton, Pat Smith, Hilda Allen, Sue Ellen Case, Betty Meadows and Jeannette Tarlton along with their guests Jeff Smith, Richard Stockton, Don Meadows and Larry Latham.

Congratulations to Mary Jo Stockton upon her receiving a Citizen Leadership award from Longwood University.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith attended the Heroic Truth Conference on Friday evening and Saturday morning held at Calvary Chapel Lynchburg that was presented by Josh McDowell and his son Sean.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith hosted the small group covered-dish dinner from Faith Bible Fellowship at their home on Monday evening.

Flora Bolt and Frances Ollie met at Merk’s Place on April 7 for lunch.

Flora Bolt had lunch on Sunday with Judy Bolt and her son Chris. Also attending were Jennifer Bolt and Alexa Moser.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Frances Anderson, Marie Self, Gail George, Elfrieda Kerns, Betty Jean Bolt and Mildred Harvey Shanks.

The Senior Adults at Glenn Memorial Baptist Church at Prospect will hold their monthly get-together on Friday at 7 p.m. Kathy Whalety will be singing at 7 p.m.; a love offering will be received.

The Rev. Art Ross, co-author of “The Romans Commentary” will be guest speaker at Appomattox PE Presbyterian Church at Tuggle Sunday. Lunch will follow his message; all are invited.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville, 302 Industrial Park Road, invites you to worship with them on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
