On Friday, April 22, the Hampden-Sydney Men’s Chorus and Sweet Briar Choruses will present “Spring Fling Concert: an Evening of American Song.”
The concert will include special guests, The Acousticals from Hampden-Sydney, and The Sweet Tones, from Sweet Briar, both groups. The concert will feature many American classics, including “Shenandoah” and “Down to the River to Pray” featured in the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Dr. Helena von Rueden, of Hampden-Sydney College, and Marcia Thom-Kaley, of Sweet Briar College, will conduct the concert with Dr. R. David Salvage and Kristen Topham featured as pianists. This event will be a unique offering of the all-male and all-female schools’ talents in a beautifully blended arrangement.
This event is sponsored by the Fine Arts Department and is free and open to the public.
