Pamplin teens hold sale for tornado victims

Pamplin teenagers Alexx Swann, left, and Sean Murray held a yard sale Saturday to benefit victims of the tornado in Evergreen. In addition to the sale, Swann and Murray collected bottled water, clothing and bedding for animals at the Appomattox Animal Shelter. “We heard there was no heat at the animal shelter — we didn’t want the animals to be cold,” Murray said. Both 11th-graders at Appomattox County High School, the teens are to be commended for taking part in community relief efforts. We thank them and the countless volunteers, churches, businesses, groups and individuals who have aided the victims of Evergreen and those affected by the tornado.
