Sparked by a four-goal performance and the game-winner from sophomore midfielder Chloe Landry, the University of California overcame a four-goal halftime deficit to edge Longwood women’s lacrosse 13-11 Tuesday night at California Memorial Stadium. Landry ignited a Cal (1-3) scoring surge of five unanswered goals that stretched into the beginning of the second half to erase the deficit and set up her game-winning goal in the 42nd minute. The performance by Landry overshadowed a career-high six goals from Madison Stair on a Longwood (3-4) squad that saw its three-game win streak snapped by the Golden Bears.

Stair netted four of her six goals in the first half, including a goal with nine seconds remaining in the period, to lift the Lancers to an 8-4 advantage to begin the game. Longwood’s Sarah Butler finished the game with one goal and four assists.

Longwood will host Radford at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
