The Hampden-Sydney golf team had a strong outing in the TaylorMade/ADIDAS Intercollegiate, placing third place at 33 over par behind a second place individual finish from Alex Simmons (Charlottesville/Ablemarle) (72-73-72-217). Guilford College won the event at 24 over par while Wittenberg placed second at 28 over.

Freshman Jamie Agnew (Fairfax/Flint Hill School) was also solid, placing seventh after shooting eight over par (71-75-78-224). Parker Smith (Warrenton/Faquier) was four strokes off of Agnew, tying for 16 (78-77-73-228), and Will Snyder(Fairfax/Flint Hill School) tied for 30 while shooting 16 over par (81-75-76-232).

Aaron Persily (Charleston, W.V./Charleston Catholic) rounded out the group, tying for 47 at 23 over (77-79-83-239).

The Tigers return to action Friday, March 18 in the Jekyll Island Tournament in Jekyll Island, Ga.
