Globetrotters put on show

Longwood University’s Willett Hall gym was packed on Wednesday evening as the Harlem Globetrotters visited town to give a comedic show full of basketball tricks.

The Globetrotters’ performance was a special one part of their “90 Years” world tour.

While many enjoyed the performance filling the gym with laughter, Alani Walton, winner of the Herald’s Junior Globetrotter Contest, was able to sit on the bench with the Globetrotters and watch the performance from as close as one could get on the court.

Walton won a prize pack that included a family four-pack of tickets, a meet-and-greet, Globetrotter T-shirt and autographed basketball, after sending in a letter to The Herald about why she deserved to be a Junior Globetrotter.
