Cumberland school foundation thanks the community for its support

The Cumberland County Public Schools Foundation thanks the many contributors who donated time and talents to support the fourth annual Foundation/Centra 5K Run on March 12. One hundred and thirty six participants ran over High Bridge. 

Donations totaled $10,700. which will help fund scholarships awarded by the foundation to Cumberland County High School graduates.

A special thank you goes to “Level of Investment” donors, which include Centra Southside Community Hospital ($2,500, title sponsor); Colonial Pipeline and Southside Electric Cooperative (bachelor’s sponsors, over $1,000); Cartersville Ruritans, Digital Benefits Advisors, Edgenuity and Sonny Merriman, Inc. (associates sponsors, over $500); and the 37 other businesses, churches, clubs and families (blue and gold sponsors, over $100).

The foundation also appreciates the support from High Bridge Trail State Park, Centra Southside Community Hospital, Riverside Runners, The Farmville Herald, Farmville Visitor’s Center, The Sleeping Bee, Southside Virginia Family YMCA, Powhatan YMCA, the Town of Farmville, Cumberland County High School’s cafeteria and the Woman’s Club of Cumberland GFWC.
