Edwina Covington, middle, longtime Elam News columnist for The Farmville Herald, recently retired from writing her weekly feature and events column. Covington focused on news, events, history and people in the Elam, Pamplin and Prospect communities. Covington wrote for The Herald for 10 years, shedding light on life on the farm and that of yesteryear in the community.
