Community assists tornado victims

Spring is right around the corner (on Sunday). Flowers are blooming all around; let us take time to renew our souls.

When disaster hits, communities come together. The Tuggle community has been very generous in helping the tornado victims in the Evergreen area.

Did you have your slice of pie on Monday? That was “Pi Day.”

Mrs. Betty Noblin was one of the many that took part in the Bowling “Fun” Draiser for the March of Dimes on Sunday at the Main Street Lanes.

On March 7 Flora Bolt met with some family members; the Rev. and Mrs. Buddy Woodson, of Fluvanna, Buddy had his mother with him from Bluefield, W. Va., at Merk’s Place for lunch and some visiting. Also attending were Garland Woodson, Ann Parker and Gene Southall. After lunch Mrs. Bolt visited with some of the ladies, Martha and Lucille at Brookview.

Mrs. Flora Bolt attended the meeting of the United Daughters of the Confederacy on Wednesday at the Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library. It was good to see the ladies after not meeting in January and February. The ladies made plans to attend the district meeting in Appomattox April 2.

Mrs. Flora Bolt visited with Ann Berry on Thursday at The Woodlands.

On Sunday Mrs. Bolt enjoyed lunch with Mrs. Judy Bolt. The two of them enjoyed their time together.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Linda W. Campbell, Nancy Mottley, Lena Rose Huddleston, Hilda and Scott Friend, Elfrieda Kerns, Betty Jean Bolt and Mildred Harvey Shanks.

The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be at Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle on Sunday.

The Rev. Caitilin Hoy will be at Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect Sunday; Sunday school is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville, 302 Industrial Park Road, invites you to worship Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m.
