Three fire companies were called to the scene of a reported structure fire at 506 Longwood Avenue at about 3:20 p.m. Thursday.

Wood planks on the side of the home were reportedly smoldering and on fire.

Fire crews from Rice, Farmville and Hampden Sydney volunteer fire companies responded.

There’s no word on the cause of the fire.
