Dunham indicted

A 30-year-old Cumberland County man accused of attempting to rape an adult and having sexual relations with numerous underage girls has been indicted on two felony charges and one misdemeanor.

According to the Cumberland Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, Bradley Stephen Dunham Jr., of Meador Road, was indicted recently on charges of rape by force or threat, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and carnal knowledge without force.

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, the three charges stem from his encounter with one of the underage girls.

Dunham is also being charged with assault and battery, sexual battery and two other counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to the Virginia Courts Case Information Online System.

According to Capt. Dennis Ownby, Dunham had “been apparently having ongoing sexual relations with numerous underage girls.”

Dunham is being held without bond at the Piedmont Regional Jail in Farmville.
