Carroll Lewis, 76 of Meherrin, formerly of Richmond, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Centra Southside Medical Center in Farmville with his loving wife, Thelma and family by his side.  Mr. Lewis was born January 3, 1940 in Prince Edward County at his home.  He was a hard working tree surgeon for 45 years. He loved gospel music and spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife, Thelma of 48 years; daughter, Tammie of Hope Mills, NC; his son, Mike Rose of Powhatan; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his son, Tony.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 26 at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home with interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice.

Family will receive friends Thursday, February 25 from 6-8 p.m. at the Shorter Funeral Home.
