Back-to-basics exhibit underway

During the month of February, Kathy Buschbell, a resident of Nottoway County, is displaying a variety of soaps made from goat’s milk at the Crewe Public Library. This back-to-the basics farmer has mastered the art of beautifully molded and scented hand soap. Her interest in living off the land was stimulated by a move to Washington State where she learned to garden, sew and make bread from like-minded people. After moving back East, she began raising goats. Her display includes ear candles, used as a natural way to remove wax and debris from the ear, which are handmade from bees wax and paraffin. Call the Crewe Public Library at (434) 645-8688 for library hours.
