“We need 255!” WCC chairperson Chris Watts said as she unloaded craft punches and felt- tipped pens on to the clean white tabletops in the basement of Payne Memorial United Methodist Church, where the Woman’s Club of Cumberland holds its monthly meetings.
For several years now, WCC has been extending its January meeting time to make valentines in an effort to show the teachers and staff of the Cumberland Public Schools that their work with Cumberland County children is recognized and appreciated. The cards are slipped into teacher mailboxes on Valentine’s Day along with a treat.
This year’s artistic staff consisted of Juanita Urban, Chris Watts, Marian Pylinski, Pat Allard, Deanna Lacy, Linda Lineweaver, Joanne Macleay, Debbie Kennell, Susan Oertel, Patty Pedrick and Georgeen Carden.
