The Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District will award three scholarships of $1,000 to students who demonstrate an active interest in conservation and are majoring in or show a strong desire to major in a college course curriculum related to natural resource conservation or environmental studies. The annual scholarship competition is open to Amelia, Nottoway and Prince Edward county residents. Past awardees are eligible to apply. 

The scholarship application and application guidelines are available through school guidance counselors and science teachers, online at www.piedmontswcd.org, or by calling the district at (434) 392-2782 ext. 132.  Application deadline is Tuesday, March 1.
