Police say BB gun was used in attempted robbery

FARMVILLE — Farmville police have released additional information about a reported attempted robbery at the Pure Station at 607 E. Third St. Sunday night.
According to Sgt. Danny Bowman, the call came in Sunday as an armed robbery.
“The weapon utilized by the suspect and recovered at the scene was identified as a BB/pellet pistol,” stated a police press release. “The suspect was last seen getting into a vehicle described as dark colored Chrysler. The suspect is described as possibly a white or Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall, [weighing between] 120-130 pounds. The suspect had an obvious mustache.”
During the incident, the male suspect entered the business and displayed a firearm, police said.
“The suspect ordered the clerk to the ground, and the clerk resisted the suspect. A physical confrontation took place and the clerk produced a firearm he had in his possession. During the scuffle, the clerk discharged his weapon in the direction of the suspect.”
No physical evidence of injury of the suspect could be found, the release stated. The store clerk was not injured, and nothing was taken from the business.
