Both Banks and Meinhard were re-elected to their respective seats on the board in November after competition.

Banks works for the University of Virginia and Meinhard is a retired educator.

“I appreciate the confidence, friendship and camaraderie I have with my peers on the board,” Banks said. “We routinely disagree on some matters, and as a governing board that is very healthy. We all do our best to thread a difficult needle in balancing a budget, encouraging business expansion and providing sound educational opportunities. It is a team effort with a lot of mutual respect.”
