Wonderful time in Farmville

The holiday season has arrived, and it is showing all around Farmville.

There are wintry decorations along street lamps, holiday trees in various locations and many brightly lit storefronts along Main Street.

This is a beautiful time of year to walk through the Town of Farmville, and we have great community members to thank for that. Not only do these people work hard to make Farmville a magical place come winter time, but they have drawn in community involvement in different ways.

Many people in the community come together in decorating, viewing the decorations by attending special events, and telling other people about what is going on in our quaint town.

That, by far, is my favorite part of the holiday season — watching the community grow together by working toward the common goal of spreading holiday cheer.

Maybe it is just me, but there is also something about this time of year that makes people naturally joyful and eager to say, “Hello. How are you today?” or “Happy holidays.” This makes me even happier to live in Farmville. Nice people doing nice things for others is exactly what the holiday season is about, and Farmville pulls it off well.

We should all commend the Farmville community for its cheerfulness and holiday involvement during the winter season. It brightens up our chilly days, gives us wonderful holiday scenery to look at, and shows us what coming together as a town looks like.
