For 27 years, the warmth and hospitality that Mary Lou Copeland Gould has created in her kitchen as she’s cooked and welcomed visitors has spread joy and happiness to hundreds of the sick, elderly and shut-in. Gould, 72, prepares the meals annually in her home with the help of faithful volunteers. With the proceeds from the $7.50 per plate she charges, she purchases Christmas gifts for the less-fortunate. The event began after Gould said she saw a need in the community. Pictured, from left, are Kenneth Brown, Gould, Emma Watson and Mary Crawley. We commend Gould, along with her volunteers, for making the community a better place to live through charity and devotion.
