CUMBERLAND — Members of the Cumberland County and Town of Farmville Industrial Development Authority (IDA) have agreed to give over 6 acres of property to Gemini Inc. in the Riverside Industrial Park on Plank Road in Cumberland.
“The Town of Farmville’s IDA and Cumberland’s IDA jointly own a piece of real estate in the Riverside [Industrial Park]. It’s like 6.53 acres …,“ said Cumberland County Administrator and Attorney Vivian Seay Giles.
Gemini plans on expanding its operation on the property, she said.
“Gemini wants the property, so the Town of Farmville had agreed to give it to them. For various reasons, [the property] doesn’t have a whole lot of value because there’s a big drainage easement and that sort of thing right through the middle of it,” she said.
According to Cumberland County’s website, the park was a joint project between Farmville and Cumberland, established in 1995. A Green Front Furniture Co. warehouse is also in the park.
