Cumberland parade winners announced

Organizers of the 2015 Cumberland County Christmas Parade have announced parade winners from the Dec. 13 event.
The Cumberland County Public Schools Foundation took first place in educational floats, while the Petersville Baptist Church Debutants took first in the religious category.
Heartland Homes took first place in the commercial float category, while Rockwell Audio and Track’em and Tree’em took third place.
In the civic float category, American Legion Post 260 took first place, while the Cartersville Red Hat Society and Cumberland Christmas Mother tied for second.
The Cumberland Cub Scouts came in third.
Isabella Day, with her “I got a doggie from Santa,” won first place in the walking pet and child category, while Zirkle’s Day Care took first in the walking category and the Cumberland Girl Scouts took second.
In the horses category, first place went to the Deep Run Hunt Club and second went to Brandy Hickey.
The Buffalo Soldiers took first in the motorcycles category, while the Motorcycle Social Club took second.
The Cumberland Middle School band took first place in the band category.
The Cumberland High School JROTC took first place in the marching unit category.
In the cars and trucks category, Tim Langhorne took first place in the 1990s section, while David Midkiff took first and Langhorne took second in the 1980s section.
In the 1970s category, Robert Duncan and Willie Smith tied for first, while Duncan also took second place.
Reggie Langhorne took third place. In the 1960s section, first place went to Joe Covington, second place went to Henry Drake and third went to Robert Hicks.
In the 1950s and older and stock class section, Gene and Lois Southall and Billy Pepper tied for first, while Pepper took second place.
Arthur Jenkins took third place in the modified class category.
Pepper took first place.
