Prince Edward’s Lutz places at golf tourneys

Prince Edward County High School golfer Henry Lutz has been making noise on the course as he won the Blue Ridge flight in the All American Cup and placed 17th in the VHSL 1A-2A state tournament over the last week.
Lutz first competed at Golden Eagle Golf Club in Irvington at the beginning of the week. This was Lutz’ first state tournament, and he played as the number two seeded individual from region 2A East.
Lutz shot an 86 in the first round and an 80 in the second round during the tournament.
He then played in the All American Cup over the weekend at Poplar Grove Golf Course. Lutz competed against 22 golfers from Appomattox County, Tunstall, St. Anne’s Belfield, Rockbridge County, E.C. Glass, Chatham, Rustburg, Timberlake Christian, Liberty Christian, Shipman, Smith Forest and Nelson County high schools.
For the second year in a row Lutz won the Blue Ridge flight by shooting a 92 the first day and 85 the second day.
