Daylight saving time ends Sunday

FARMVILLE — Daylight saving time will end on Sunday at 2 a.m.

This means residents should set their clocks and watches back by one hour before going to bed Saturday night.

Daylight saving time began on March 8.

New Zealander George Hudson proposed the modern idea of daylight saving in 1895. Germany and Austria-Hungary organized the first implementation, starting in 1916. Many countries have used it at various times since then, particularly since the energy crisis of the 1970s.
