Cumberland High School recently announced that seniors Megan Dunivan, Hannah King, Carmen Meachum, Toni Riddle and Sundina Trieble were chosen to attend the Region 8 Governor’s Health Sciences Academy this year. The Academy was started by area superintendents to expand options in heath-related careers. The program allows for certification in high demand, high wage and highly skilled jobs in the health science field.

These CHS seniors are attending SVCC to complete their certification as respiratory therapists.

CHS also has six students attending the Governor’s School in Humanities: Matthew Bapties, Shakiera Branch, Chelsea Giles, Riley Giles, Chase Grubbs and Katey Houghland and four students attending SVCC in the STEM Pre-Engineering Program: Trevon Foster, John Jefferies, Kaylah Paras and Demory Williamson.
