Women’s Outdoor Weekend sponsored by Wilderness Discovery and Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center is being held October 9-11.  

Classes offered include Archery, Handgun, Rifle, Self Defense, Climbing Tower, Nature Hike (leisurely and strenuous), Fishing (license required), Canoeing, Kayaking, Wilderness Survival, Edible/Medicinal Plants, Outdoor Cooking,  Map & Compass and GPS.  

The weekend event is open to women and girls ages 10 and up.  Girls 17 or younger must be accompanied by a registered adult.  The cost is $150 and includes instruction, lodging and all meals (Friday dinner – Sunday lunch).  Registration deadline is Sept. 25. The event is being held at Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center 1267 4-H Camp Road Appomattox.
