The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in the Circuit Courtroom of Cumberland County in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct public hearings pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2‐1427, which such hearings may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following items and taking actions in furtherance thereof:

Code Amendment (CA) 15­08, Cemeteries in an A­2 district­ This is an amendment to Chapter 74 of the Cumberland County Code that would allow private and family cemeteries as permitted uses in the A­2 district.  Currently, these uses are both conditional uses in the A­2 district.

Code Amendment (CA) 15­09, Buffers – This is an amendment to Chapter 74 of the Cumberland County Code that would require buffers for new commercial development or redevelopment adjacent to residential uses.

Conditional Use Permit (CUP) 15­07 Blue Door Mini Storage­ A conditional use request to allow mini­storage in an A­2 District.  The property is located on Plank Road, approximately one mile north of Airport Road, and is designated as tax map parcel 96­A­ 12.  The parcel is 8.5 acres, and is zoned A­2.  The parcel is not within the designated growth area as designated on the Comprehensive Plan and is within Election District 5.

Conditional Use Permit (CUP) 15­09 Harrison­ A conditional use permit request to address lot deficiencies on two lots in Cartersville.  The proposed CUP would allow a boundary adjustment between two properties and additions to homes on them.  The properties are located at 30 Church Street and 39 High Street, and are designated as tax parcels 18A­A­9 and 18A­A­13 and are shown as low intensity growth on the Comprehensive Plan.  The properties are zoned R­3 and located in Election District 1.

Copies of the complete text of the above Ordinance Amendments and Conditional Use Permits are  available for  public review  at  the  office  of  the Cumberland County  Planning  Department, County Administration Building,  1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia  between  8:30  am and 4:30 pm of each business day.  The public is invited to attend this hearing at which persons affected may appear and present their views.
