In the business section of The Washington Post on July 26 there is an article relating to the Pentagon planning to buy new vehicles called joint light tactical vehicles. Fifty-five thousand are being put out to bid for around $30 BILLION.
I guess that means more war. Yes, I know we need strong defenses because we never know when the enemy will be at our door. Crime, pollution and child abuse do not qualify as enemies.
Wouldn’t it be better if some of that money, maybe one or two billion, was used for our returning damaged military personnel instead? Wouldn’t 54,000 vehicles be enough?
