Lindy Lynn Hamlett

Lindy Lynn Hamlett , 88, of Hampden-Sydney, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015. He was born on July 14, 1927 in Prince Edward County, to the late Coleman O. and Mary Hixon Hamlett.

He was married to Wanda Chernault Hamlett and spent his life farming and working in his community. He is well known as a friend to many and loved by many more. He served his country by serving in the US Army, and was a tireless worker, trustee and elder in College Presbyterian Church. He was active in many organizations, Ruritan Club, Farm Bureau county committee ASC and Odd Fellows.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda, and children, Curtis C. Hamlett, Lynn East (Wayne), Margie Agee (Gary) all of Farmville; grandchildren, Sandy Burruss (George), twins, Benjamin Agee (Shanna), Kelly Redford (James), and great-grandchildren, Joshua and  Savannah Redford, Garrison and Emma  Agee.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis Hamlett, Kenneth Hamlett, Nelson Hamlett, Emerson Hamlett, and twin sister, Christine Hamlett Oliver.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15, at College Presbyterian Church in Hampden-Sydney, with interment in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to College Presbyterian Church or Prince Edward Rescue Squad.
