It’s better to give than to receive, as Dr. Ray Gaskins has shown the community. Gaskins, of Prince Edward County, recently donated over $1 million to Longwood University that will endow two full scholarships. The generous donation is Longwood’s largest local gift from a Prince Edward County resident and the portion of Gaskins’ gift that he donated to athletics is the largest gift in the history of the department. Because of Gaskins’ gift, Longwood University and our community will be enhanced with more citizen leaders and student athletes. We commend Gaskins for his historic donation.
