BUCKINGHAM — County leaders are considering the possible relocation of the Bates’ Market solid waste site in Buckingham.

Following a report from County Attorney E.M. Wright Jr., county supervisors voted unanimously to allow for a survey and site assessment to be conducted for property on U.S. Route 15 between the current site and Oak Grove Baptist Church.

According to Wright, potential changes in ownership of the property that the site is currently located on could have an impact on its operation.

The property, which would have to be acquired by condemnation, Wright said, is less than two acres in size. The property is currently owned by an abandoned lodge, he said.
