CUMBERLAND — County supervisors approved of a rezoning request Tuesday night allowing the operation of a pottery and gift shop at 1547 Cumberland Road.

The request to rezone the eight-acre parcel from residential and agricultural to business was made by Larry Atkins, according to county documents.

The county’s planning commission recommended approval of the request.

Supervisors unanimously approved of the rezoning following a public hearing that drew no speakers.
