Samuels receives scholarships

The Cumberland County Public School Foundation, Inc. recently presented several scholarships to current and former Cumberland High School graduates. Kiara Samuels, second from right, is a recipient of a $200 scholarship from the Cartersville Ruritan Club, a $300 scholarship from the Cumberland County Public Schools Foundation, a $300 scholarship from the Joshua I. Smith Memorial scholarship and a $500 scholarship from the David Goodman Memorial scholarship for a total of $1,300. Kiara plans to attend the University of Virginia. Representing the Cartersville Ruritan Club was Fred Shumaker, third from left, representing the Foundation was Barbara Gamage, second from left, and representing the David Goodman Scholarship was Herb Goodman, left.
